Could a carrier make the job easier?

Using ICT to add those all important finishing touches
It is important that the images and words on the carriers designed by your class reflect the high standard of careful making that has gone into their construction. The charm of the rushed marker pen addition quickly palls. Here are three ways in which images and words can be produced to a high quality and added to the carriers.
Using a clip art library
The child simply selects the words and images she wants from the library, assembles them on the screen in the correct positions and to the correct size and then prints out. She can carefully cut out the result and use a minimum of pva glue to attach to the carrier. Spray mount, if you can afford it is better.
Using digital photography
The child takes a selection of appropriate photos with a digital camera. He prints them out and decides which one is the best for the carrier. He uses desktop publishing software to position the image on a page and add appropriate words. Then he prints out, carefully cuts out and uses a minimum of pva glue to attach to the carrier. Again, spray mount, if you can afford it is better.
Drawing and using the scanner
The child produces an appropriate line image by drawing the scans it into the computer so that it can be resized and perhaps coloured before printing out, cutting out and attaching to the carrier with pva glue, or better still spray mount.
