"The ideas were good but I was disappointed with the finish. I'm facing a dilemma. I don't want to cramp their creativity but I do want to improve the quality of the their making.

"One way forward I know is to make more use of the computer in designing numbers and labels on screen, printing out, cutting out neatly and then sticking on carefully. Tower ludo
For large board game designs I think I'll get the children to do drafts, which can be traced over to get improved versions, which can then be scanned into the computer and coloured and labelled before printing out.

Also I'll make sure that there are plenty of long lengths of thin strip that can be cut to exact length to avoid making frames stuck onto card from lots of shorter pieces.

"To drive the message home I'll do a 'Which looks better?' display with some good and bad examples."
