East Anglia Display
The children really enjoyed the project, they worked very well together in teams and divided tasks up between themselves. They enjoyed the independence and freedom of making their own decisions about the content of the displays.
We had to limit them to a choice of two sizes for their display though, due to available space. We also had to modify things slightly as we did not have large pegboards on which to place the displays.
One of the teachers said she felt the children had been able to transfer some of the skills and knowledge they learned in this project to other areas of the curriculum. For example in literacy lessons they had used what they had learned about looking closely at existing displays to help them gather information from non fiction text.
The children felt a great sense of achievement at seeing their work displayed in a format chosen and created by themselves
