A fashion show
It is important to provide opportunities to celebrate the achievements of the children in your class. There is the possibility of the hats being worn at a party although this might not be easy to organise. And at the party it is likely that the hats will not be the focus of attention. One celebration possibility is a fashion show. This can take place in an ordinary school assembly or as a special event for invited parents and governors. It should be short and simple. You as the teacher can give a brief introduction describing to the audience the nature of the big task that the children tackled. Then each child can simply walk across the stage wearing the hat they designed and made. If your class is confident enough then you can invite the audience to ask questions. In addition to celebrating the achievements of your class it is an opportunity to promote design & technology to parents and governors.
