How to acquire new skills and where to get help
- The IT Co-ordinator in school may be able to give you some training, or at least arrange for you to try out the range of software available in the school.
- Find out if there is a Teachers' Centre nearby where you could book some time to use their computers and software and even some training sessions.
- Ask your teaching colleagues for help and advice.
- Find out if any of the pupils in your class have multimedia skills that they could share with you and / or other class members.
- Look for support on this site: see the tutorials for the units which use IT skills such as "Should your software speak?" in the KS1 Tutorials and "What will the scissors say on screen?" in the KS2 Tutorials in this section of the website.
- Look in detail at multimedia work done by other teachers and pupils for the same units under the Showcase section.
