What range of hardware and software have I got in my school?
Here are some questions to ask.
- What sort of computers can I have access to?
- Are they suitable for multimedia work i.e. colour and sound capable?
- Is there a microphone?
- Is there a scanner?
- Is there a CD ROM drive?
- Is there a digital camera?
- Which multimedia authoring programs are available?
- Which program is most suitable for the age range within my class?
Once you have the answers you will know whether you have what you need to start teaching either of the two units which require multimedia authoring: "Should your software speak?" Year 2 and "What would the scissors say on screen?" Year 6.
