How should your puppets tell their story?

4

Mixed age groups

You can organise this Big Task so that children of different ages can work together. The youngest in the group can design and make simple puppets - finger puppets or stick puppets. Those in the middle age band can design and make glove puppets and the main parts of the puppet theatre. The eldest children can design and make string puppets and the special features of the theatre.

GROUP OF CHLDREN, PUPPETS
All children can help with producing both the story and the scenery. You will need to organise each age group's contribution carefully. Your classroom assistant can provide very useful support here. Each of the children should use what they have designed and made in the performance. In this way each age group will make a contribution to the overall endeavour. It is important that at the end of the performance all contributors have the opportunity to 'take a bow'.
