How should your puppets tell their story?

Finding different audiences
You can extend this unit by asking the class if they would like to put on a performance for someone other than themselves. There are several immediate possibilities.

- Their parents
- The school governors
- Another class in the school
This would provide the opportunity for the class to ask any of these groups what they would like the performance to be about. This could be achieved by writing a letter that suggests possible issues, which might appeal to the group and to which they could respond. The letter could also leave an option by which the group could indicate an issue that has not been listed. The response might provide both reason and motivation to put on the performance.
The new audience can also provide useful feedback on the effectiveness of the performance. They can praise achievements but also suggest improvements. This would add extra rigour to the evaluation and review sessions.
